Communication Workshop

NeuroPrion and the German TSE Forum proudly invite interested attendees of the Prion2005 conference to the following event:

2005 – The year of the researcher in Europe
How could communication and mobility support research in the future.

This workshop is open to all attendees of the conference, but due to the capacities of the room, it will be restricted to 250 attendees.

Please register as soon as possible.

It will be held on the 18th of October from 17:00 to 20:00 at the conference venue and will be divided into two parts:

i) When Communication meets Research: the discovery of new synergies in the European Research Area

Presentation by Keith Spicer

Keith Spicer is a well-known communication expert and designer of academic and training courses in the field of communication strategies. Before he became the director of the Institute for Media, Peace and Security at the University for PEACE in Paris, Keith Spicer has taught at six universities in Canada and the U.S. and worked as a senior government official.

ii) New opportunities through greater mobility within Europe: the Charter initiative

Presentation by Sieglinde Gruber DG Research

A European researchers network associating 52 research institutions in 20 countries is a good opportunity to favour human mobility between the different teams and to offer positions for early stage researchers. Implementing the Charter and Code for the recruitment of researchers should strengthen these opportunities. Main gains will be outlined and discussed in this session.
