The European Network of Excellence (NoE) NeuroPrion is pleased to invite you to its First Annual International Conference. This major event will be held at the Pasteur Institute, in the beautiful city of Paris, France, from May 24-28, 2004. We sincerely hope that you can join us to make this occasion a memorable one.

For this event, the scientific advisory board is organising a novel scientific program, which aims to extend the spread of knowledge within the scientific community and between research and society. The congress will focus on the topics of prevention, treatment, epidemiology and risk assessment in the field of prion diseases.

The opening and closing days of the conference will be dedicated to general information. On Monday, emphasis will be given to the topic of Science and Society, and to plenary sessions held by three Nobel Prize Laureates, who will give a lecture on the subject of their personal experiences as Nobel Prize winners. On Friday, the congress will be committed to the inauguration of the new NeuroPrion Research Platform located at the CEA of Fontenay-aux-Roses near Paris. The remaining days of the conference will be devoted to the latest advances in prion research.

We look forward in welcoming you to Paris in 2004.
