One of the objectives of NeuroPrion is to inform the public about the latest research and to discuss its impact on Society.
On this page, Prof. James Ironside and Dr. Marc Turner will deliver presentations on vCJD, the current situation, risk of human to human spread and strategies to restrict the spread of vCJD. These "public" lectures were filmed at the Assembly Hall, in Edingburgh, Scotland on the 25th of September 2007.

Prof. James Ironside, who has been at the forefront of vCJD research from the outset, is Professor of Clinical Neuropathology at the University of Edinburgh and is the Head of the Neuropathology Laboratories in the National CJD Surveillance Unit.
Dr. Marc Turner is a Clinical Director for the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service and has a position as Associate Director of the Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine within the School of Clinical Sciences and Community Health.
