A new blood-linked vCJD case found!

A third suspected case of the human form of mad cow disease linked to a transmission via blood transfusion has been discovered in the UK

The patient was diagnosed with variant Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease (vCJD) after having received a transfusion eight years before -- the donor had developed symptoms of the disease 20 months after having given blood.
